From July 15 through September 10 2023, Jenne Currie presents her sculpted paintings at the Associazione Culturale Castello 780 gallery in Venice, Italy.
Jenne Currie’s paintings balance sculptural space against the limits of the two-dimensional substrate. The shadows made by the suspended forms are influenced by the shifting ambient light. These ever-changing silhouettes allow the passage of time and its accompanying shadows to serve as painterly components alongside pigments and mediums. There is an intense musicality to the artworks as they invoke the rhythm of dance, the convergent harmonies of sound and the suggested contours of instruments. The restricted palette and exuberant forms make for paintings that demand multiple viewings to ascertain the constantly shifting space.

(Venice, Italy): Castello 925 presents a two-person exhibition of sculptural collages by Jenne Currie and small oil paintings by Tracy Phillips opening 15 July and running through 10 September, 2023 with a reception for the artists on Saturday, 22 July from 18:30 - 20:30 at Castello 780, Venice IT. Both of these artists have shown extensively in the United States and this is their first exhibition in Italy.

About Jenne Currie
Jenne Currie is a sculptor, painter and art educator based in Woodstock, NY. She has shown extensively in the United States and has had solo shows most recently in Buster Levi Gallery, Beacon NY and has participated in group exhibitions at the Lockwood Gallery, Kingston NY.

Entrambi questi artisti hanno esposto molto negli Stati Uniti e questa è la loro prima mostra in Italia.
I dipinti di Jenne Currie bilanciano lo spazio scultoreo contro i limiti del substrato bidimensionale. Le ombre create dalle forme sospese sono influenzate dalla mutevole luce ambientale. Queste sagome in continua evoluzione consentono al passare del tempo le ombre che le accompagnano di fungere da componente pittorica insieme a pigmenti e mezzo.
